In a historic move in American sports, Lionel Messi's transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) is nothing short of groundbreaking for the US soccer scene. Now, he faces a fresh challenge with Inter Miami.

 Currently, Miami finds itself at the 15th position in the MLS Eastern Conference standings. With only 12 regular season games remaining and the opportunity to secure a playoff spot, Miami must climb up the ranks to attain a new position. If Miami manages to attain this higher position, they will qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs as a wild-card entrant, potentially competing against the eighth-ranked team.

 As for Messi, he's currently on a brief hiatus in the league competition. In the span of a month, he's engaging in a tournament known as the Leagues Cup, featuring teams from both MLS and Liga MX. This tournament, consisting of a total of 47 teams, takes place between July 21 and August 19. Miami's MLS campaign will resume after this tournament. Following this, they are set to face Charlotte FC on August 26 and then FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup on August 23.

In total, Messi has clinched three trophies in his MLS journey:

League Cup: Runner-up; Their next game is against Nashville SC on August 19

US Open Cup: Quarter-finals; Their next game is against FC Cincinnati on August 23

MLS Cup: Currently in the 15th position in the Eastern Conference (eligible for playoffs as the top nine teams qualify); Their next game is against Charlotte FC on August 26
